Fall Quilt Market 2017 - Part 2
Fall Quilt Market 2017 - Part 2
You didn't think that was all of it, did you? There's more... lots more.
You know who these folks are. Let's start with the lovely lass standing on the far right side, Lisa Bongean of Primitive Gatherings.
This is Homespun Gatherings. Forty brushed cotton wovens in stripes, plaids and textures - comfortable, familiar and oh-so-yummy. The quilt on the left is Part Time, that's Checked Out on the right. The clipboards on the right have little minis that are part of a pattern titled Sentiments of Home - it's coming soon.
These are Lisa's Sweethearts... we're going to need these for Valentine's Day. Homespun Gatherings will ship in April.
We missed Annie Brady at Market but her Flying Cactus quilt was there - it's made with Yucatan. Yucatan ships in March.
Painted Garden by Crystal Manning - quilts, garments, bags and those gorgeous flowers! From left to right, the quilts are Fruit Punch - Rose Hips - Soiree.
We particularly love the tops and dresses made with Painted Garden... kind of makes a girl wish she were a little younger. (And perhaps a bit more petite.) Maybe by April of next year...
Pepper and Flax by Corey Yoder. Yellow, Green, White and shades of Gray ranging from Silver to Charcoal. That's Barn Star on the left, on top of Garden District; and Lemongrass is on the right.
Corey will have Sunny Stitches, an Aurifil Assortment next Spring - it's 10 spools of 12 wt. Cotton Mako thread, it's perfect for embroidery and big-stitch quilting. Those adorable clutch purses are made using a pattern by Lee Monroe for May Chappell called Clutched. Pepper & Flax will be in shops in April 2018.
Lydia Nelson of Dreamy Quilts has three boys so a fabric collection designed with them in mind was something she's wanted to do for a while. So collection No. 3 is Mighty Machines. Trucks and Garbage Day are the quilts.
This is Mighty Machines - the quilt. Mighty Machines - the collection - will be available in April.
Sandy Gervais of Pieces of My Heart is always Well Said. In paint, in fabric and in quilts. This time, her collection includes a wonderful panel with hand-drawn, hand-painted text prints. Well Said will be available in April - more about this collection soon.
Vanessa Goertzen of Lella Boutique flew the nest for a few minutes but she left her beautiful Nest quilts behind! From left to right, the quilts are Mabel - Summit Dark - Easy Breezy Light.
While she was out, Vanessa was busy filming Boomerang videos for her Instagram feed. One. Two. Three.
Me and My Sister - Barbara Groves and Mary Jacobson - were in Houston... but they were busy, busy, busy with demos, book signings and all manner of things. This is Confetti - the quilt is Circus. Confetti will be in shops in January but Easy Layer Cake Quilts and the new Double-Wide Dresden book are available now.
Home Sweet Home by Stacy Iest Hsu. This adorable quilt is The Three Bears - and it's available as a kit. If you haven't guessed already, the theme of Home Sweet Home is Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Goldi and her friends will be making their Home Sweet Home comfortable in March. (That print on the wall is from the collection.)
Christopher Wilson-Tate came to Houston from London, and he brought quite a few wonderful antique quilts with him... a few of which will be staying in the States.
Christopher's debut collection for Moda is Regency Blues - the quilt in the middle of the picture is Old Bewick from the Regency Blues Book by Antler Quilt Designs. Hanging to the left of Old Bewick is Beadnell, a tablerunner that's also in the Regency Blues book. More about Regency Blues coming soon - before it's in shops next April.
Jo Morton's New Hope - it's quite beautiful. I may need that little pink flying geese quilt... to make it, of course. You can make it too when New Hope ships in January.
Fresh Cut Flowers by Lynne Hagmeier of Kansas Troubles. Lynne has a wonderful new book coming in a few weeks - Cozy Quilts and Comforts.
Yes, that's a quilt on the floor. While it's done frequently in other countries, I think a few folks were reluctant to actually step on it. (Me included.) Fresh Cut Flowers will be in shops in March.
Rachel Brenchley of BasicGrey wasn't able to be in Houston to debut her new collection, Meraki, but there were two quilts to show the collection. The quilt on the left is Rosettes by Antler Quilt Design, and the quilt on the right is Avalon by Amy Friend of During Quiet Time. (Avalon is out of print as a paper pattern but it's a beautiful showcase for the collection.)
Jen Kingwell was in the house with Beach Road and a Chain of Fools. It's a quilt! (Okay... so I might have been following Jen just a bit... it's a fan-girl thing.)
The quilt on the left is Hebe, it's made with Lollies Sweeties and Behind the Scenes Wovens, both of which are shipping any day now. The quilt in the middle is That Fairy Tale Quilt by Lucy Carson Kingwell, Jen's wonderfully talented daughter. The side of the quilt on the right is Meadow - more soon - and those pincushions! Pincushion Party... you know I'm going to need those!
Feedsacks: True Blue by Linzee Kull McCray. The quilts are Metro Rings - don't have a name but it's going to be in American Patchwork & Quilting next year - Blooming Dresden - Lulees Garden.
And finally... because it is November and Christmas is starting to creep into the stores...
This is Swell Christmas - the Swell Christmas Santa! He's a digitally-printed panel that is cut out and stitched onto a pieced backing made with the collection. After attaching Santa, there is enough leftover to make the table runner. The small Santa and Swell Christmas images are part of the panel and can be made into pillows.
Swell Christmas - Urban Chiks. Santa will be arriving a little before Christmas in 2018... look for him in May.
That Urban Chik may have had something to do with Spread Your Wings - a Digital Quilt Kit that comes in two sizes. (You have to see the catalog page to see the adorable Baby Spread Your Wings quilt with growing-fast Jacob... the sweet grandson of ModaLissa.) You can spread your own wings in January.
And finally... there will be more about the Color Cuts in the coming weeks but until then, here's a look at the quilts.
This is the Dessert Sampler. The quilts on the rack are Picnic at Daybreak and Outside the Lines.
And that's it for today.
Whew. The worst part is that I'm sure I've forgotten someone... or something. The good news is that we'll be sharing more of all the new stuff in the coming months... and a whole lot more.
Happy Tuesday!
